What we collect
- Account data: your username, email, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- Content you upload: source videos and the clips, transcripts, and summaries generated from them.
- Device identifier: a random ID stored in your browser, used to grant free credits once per device and prevent abuse.
- Usage and diagnostics: basic logs and error reports to keep the Service running.
How we use it
We use your data only to operate the Service: to authenticate you, process your videos into clips, track credit balances, send account emails (such as password resets), and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal data.
Processing your video
Uploaded video is processed by automated models (transcription, summarization, narration, reframing) to produce your output. Your source media and generated clips are stored so you can access them in your library. We do not use your private content to train third-party models.
Third-party services
We rely on infrastructure providers to run ATScut, which may process data on our behalf: cloud hosting and database (AWS), object storage (Amazon S3), email delivery (SMTP/SES), payments (Stripe), and error monitoring (Sentry). Each handles data under its own security and privacy commitments.
Retention and deletion
We keep your content while your account is active. You can delete clips, sources, and your account at any time; deletion removes the associated media from our active storage. Backups may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are hashed. Access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
